In light of Chelsea’s ongoing transfer interest in Moises Caicedo, Brighton CEO Paul Barber has provided an update on the player’s future.
The Seagulls have already turned down three of the Blues’ proposals, and a fourth is expected to be submitted before Sunday’s Premier League matchup with Liverpool.
After the game, Roberto De Zerbi, the manager of Brighton, was questioned over Caicedo’s apparent injury. “I’m not sure if he will return to training tomorrow,” the Italian stated, as reported by The Sun.
“We will find another key player if Moises departs. I will be pleased for ourselves, the team, and the club if Moises stays.
Yet, it’s no longer a concern for me. We will add a new player if Moises departs. As per our strategy, it is possible for us, Brighton, to lose some players at the end of the season.”
Caicedo missed Monday’s practice in an effort to expedite a move to Chelsea, so the Italian head coach got his response fast. But Brighton appears to be holding their peace about Caicedo’s future, as club president Barber gave Chelsea an update on his situation and even hinted that they would finally come to an understanding.
