Brian Callahan, the new head coach of the Tennessee Titans, is bringing a touch of University of Tennessee to his first coaching staff in Nashville.
As the Titans’ new quarterback coach, Callahan intends to oust former Tennessee quarterback Bo Hardegree, as NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport initially revealed.
Hardegree joins the Titans with several years of NFL coaching experience.
After head coach Josh McDaniels was fired by the team in the middle of the season, he served as the interim offensive coordinator and coach of the Las Vegas Raider quarterbacks for the previous two seasons.
The native of Jackson, Tennessee, previously served as a coach for the Jets, Dolphins, Bears, Broncos, and Patriots. Hardegree will collaborate closely with former Kentucky quarterback Will Levis in Nashville. Levis was selected by the Titans in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, and he had a strong rookie campaign.

Hardegree, a three-star prospect out of high school, was a member of Tennessee’s roster from 2004 until 2007 but never saw action.

For the remaining years of Hardegree’s collegiate career, Ainge started at quarterback for Tennessee, while Schaeffer spent a season as a junior college transfer before enrolling at Ole Miss.
