It is predicted that former Tennessee players would pick up later in the Pro Football Network’s 2024 NFL Mock Draft.
In this year’s draft, PFN selected corner Kamal Hadden, running back Jaylen Wright, and former quarterback Joe Milton.
Since moving to Knoxville in2021, Vols head coach Josh Heupel has placed a few former players in the NFL. In his three years as Tennessee’s head coach, he has had a winning season each time, which has advanced players to the next level.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers select the first Tennessee player off the board in PFN’s mock draft. Through a deal with the Detroit Lions, the Buccaneers choose Tennessee running back Jaylen Wright with the 92nd choice in the draft.
With Baker Mayfield at the controls, Wright would be joining current Bucs running back Rachaad White in the backfield. He is, in the words of Owain Jones of PFN, “lightning in a bottle.” Being a dynamic receiving threat with the ability to change direction quickly, accelerate explosively, and make cutbacks.”
